Ice Sheets delivered on a project in collaboration with the NHL & NHLPA Industry Growth Fund and The Anthony Duclair Foundation (ADF) for the construction of a 100-foot by 50-foot synthetic outdoor hockey rink at Boyd H. Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida.

As part of the Anthony Duclair Foundation’s (ADF) mission to grow the game of hockey in underserved communities, Anthony approached Ice Sheets about building a synthetic ice rink. As a professional hockey player, he did not have the time or resources to accomplish this on his own.

Ice Sheets provided a turnkey service by:

  • Conceptualizing and configuring the rink size with appropriate synthetic ice surface, board system, and markings
  • Sourcing the ideal location at a High School that targets the demographic that the ADF wanted to introduce the game to
  • Working with the school board and licensed Florida contractors to submit the necessary documentation to acquire the permits and build the rink
  • Sourcing the hockey equipment, nets, pucks, banners, decals, and other miscellaneous items
  • Making introductions to hockey coaches and created effective programs to teach the students the basics of hockey
  • Providing the school with rink and equipment maintenance seminars and support to effectively operate and maintain the equipment and rink
  • Coordinating the ”groundbreaking” event and ensuring local press and media were in attendance to capture photo and video content
